I graduated for the Univ. of WA with a BA degree in history and a teaching certificate. I spent 31 years working in public education. For 26 years I was an elementary school librarian. I live in a lovely town called Lake Forest Park with my wife of 28 years. I have two wonderful, young adult children who live independently. My desire to assist families "rightsize," grew from the personal experience of helping my parents transition numerous times, and watching my friends and family become empty-nesters. I enjoy hanging out with my family, volunteering with LFP Rotary and at my former school, experiencing the outdoors, photography and Sounders soccer.
I grew up in the Seattle area and feel grateful to live in such a beautiful place.
Son of a Realtor who was once chairman of the Idaho Real Estate Commission, Jim never envisioned he would follow in his father’s footsteps. After obtaining a B.A. in Journalism, he was the statehouse reporter for an all-news radio station, a public relations officer in state government, a professional musician, and a publication editor before finding his groove in the fine wine business. There, he was a longtime sales rep in downtown Seattle progressing into multi-state management positions with wine import companies. But as the wine business consolidated repeatedly, Jim missed the one-on-one interaction with clients. He could see the joy that wife Judy, a Realtor for over 25 years, brought to her clients upon a successful closing on their dream home. So, 5 years ago, Jim joined Judy and has thoroughly enjoyed following the path his father took. Must be in the genes.
The experience was breathtaking.
The mountains, the water, the skyline, it was so beautiful. I knew that if I could I wanted to live here. When it came time to buy our first home I remember what a stressful experience that was. We didn’t know anything except we wanted to live in that house. Inspections, negotiations, contracts were all a foreign language to us. I have been in the real estate industry now for over 25 years. I have helped MANY people through the same experience. My goal has always been to make their experience as stress free as possible, and the outcome exceed their expectations.
I fell in love with the Puget Sound area the first time I saw it.
